Around 130 junior golfer from local and neighboring
countries participated the Pondok Indah Junior
Golf 2011 which was held on September 25, 2011. In
this stroke play tournament, junior golfers were
divided into several age groups; 5 groups (A,B,C,
D, E) for boys and 3 groups (A, B, C) for girls.
The junior golfers not only showed excellent golf
skills but also good understanding of Rules of R&A,
which is one of the goal of the tournament. The
Tournament Director, Mr.I Haris N. Soetopo from
Pondok Indah Golf Academy stated that the tournament
exercised the golf rules based on Rules of R&A,
where junior golfers were expected to understand and
practice the correct rules of golf since they were
in their early ages. The tournament spectators were
astonished by a hole-in-one result produced by
Yumaira Salmun on hole 17.
The tournament, which is also part of the Indonesian
Golf Association (PGI) Junior Series, went
successfully well and expect more junior golfers to
participate next year. |
